How this jewelry brand increased sales by 142% just 2 months after re-launching their website.

Today we wanted to share the wildly true story behind the website re-design of one of our clients, Leela Grace Jewelry. Before we started working together, Leela Grace Jewelry was selling their luxury jewelry on a website that hadn't been updated in years and looked like it popped right out of a web browser powered by dial-up.

Even though the brand sells fine jewelry products that can range from $500 to over $15,000 per piece, their website looked a little sketchy and unsecure. Not ideal, especially in the world of e-commerce.

The more we started clicking around, the more we noticed that while the product descriptions and categories weren’t intuitive or primed to increase the customer’s average transaction size.

We also noticed that many of the products appealed to certain demographics or design styles so we did something a little different: we introduced multiple entry points into the collections throughout the home page: searching by 14k & 18k gold, eclectic design, 80s style, gemstone jewelry, fine jewelry, best sellers, new arrivals and color therapy.

From there we added several product filters like color, metal, style and price that make it easier for someone to browser the 1000+ pieces and ultimately drive sales.

After we initially launched the new-and-improved Leela Grace Jewelry website, this homegrown e-commerce brand experienced almost overnight and instant success. Just two months after the new website launched, Leela Grace sold 142% more jewelry than the previous ten months combined.

And while we gave this brand + website the complete Emerald experience, here’s what we think contributed to such a drastic increase in revenue in such a short period of time:

  • Their website is now easy to navigate with multiple points of entry and strategic filters that make it easy to discover new products
  • Their brand imagery is clear, artistic, and accurately shows off each piece without being overly showy or too simplified
  • We streamlined their customer journey and payment process so customers would feel safer about their purchase, especially if it entered the $1,000+ threshold
  • We redesigned their product packaging to match their brand aesthetic so the end-to-end retail experience feels thoughtfully curated, instead of like an afterthought
  • We added an about page that shares the value of their products and why this isn’t “just” another jewelry brand you saw on social media
