Springing forward

March and frankly all of 2025 is keeping everyone on our toes. Despite unpredictability and chaos in the world, we've been trying our best to stay focused on what we can do for our local communities, loved ones and clients. What's one *small* (emphasis on small) thing we can do today?

Do the best that you can with the tools that you have.

What we’re working on: Micro-Interactions

Micro-interactions in web design are the small, functional animations that respond to user actions—like a button changing color when clicked or a subtle loading indicator—that provide feedback and make a website feel more ✨alive✨.

  • Websites with interactive elements have a 40% lower bounce rate than static ones. Linearity
  • Interactive content is twice as likely to engage a visitor as static content. rockcontent.com
  • Interactive content generates up to 80% higher engagement rates than traditional formats. eventflare.io

By incorporating subtle yet effective motion, we keep visitors engaged, guiding them seamlessly through content while making interactions feel intuitive and rewarding.

So what does that look like on a real website?

A real example from Health Lit Pro below. On hover the drop shadow is added and the color of the play button changes. It's small but impactful details like these that we're always thinking about!

We loved designing Health Lit Pro, where every detail—from smooth button animations to engaging hover effects—was crafted to enhance user experience.

Customizing a CMS for your unique needs

Watch Charlee, Emerald's Founder, Creative Director and Webflow Whiz walk you through how we set up Health Lit Pro's CMS to best suit their custom needs.

What in the world is a CMS?

A Content Management System (CMS) is the backbone of your digital presence—it’s what allows you to easily update, organize, and publish content on your website without touching a line of code. Think of it as the engine that powers your website’s content.

And in our experience, Webflow has one of the best.

  • Update content yourself without waiting for developer assistance
  • Maintain design consistency across your entire site
  • Organize complex content relationships intuitively
  • Launch changes instantly without technical headaches

During the website process we make it a priority to chat with our clients about their plans to update their website. We ask things like:

  • Will you be posting blog posts regularly?
  • Adding new team members regularly?
  • Swapping out a featured video on the home page frequently?
  • Swapping out imagery regularly?

We then build your website with all of this in mind, all powered by the CMS to make those edits a breeze.
