A very creative season🍦

This summer has been one of our busiest yet! We are preparing for some exciting brand and website launches over the next two months, we can't wait to share!

What team Emerald has been up to

I (Leah) visited Charlee in Indy at the beginning of this summer! We visited the newly opened CAMi (Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis) which was amazing! Highly recommend checking out the Chicken Chapel and the Ivelisse Jimenez: Campo de Resonancia exhibit.

We both started hobbies off the computer this summer. Charlee translated inspiration from a recent trip to Michigan into block prints for stationary and fabric.

Leah is making teeny tiny paintings! After struggling with larger canvases and tiny paintings feel so much more approachable. Charlee is getting the bottom right painting of coneflowers for her birthday!

Design

3 trends we're loving in design right now

01 • Condensed typography

All caps! Tracked tightly! Especially nice when paired with bold colors photography. PSA: this is just for a headlines people! This can be hard to read longer than a couple words.

02 • Using public domain artwork
A design goal for me (Leah) this year was to use artwork in the public domain to inspire brand work! I'm happy to report the public domain is a great place to find gorgeous paintings to be used as backgrounds and cool trademark imagery that is now available (peep the "Nerve Seeds logo, a remedy for nervous diseases from 1891!). I recommend searching on the the Met and Library of Congress.

03 • Pairing photography with product imagery
Okay it's not only eye catching but it's also calming? This is done most successfully with nature photography or a photo that's blurred.

How to use the new Edit Mode
Thursday, July 30 • 2:00 PM ET

If your website launched before January 2025 the legacy editor you've been using is being replaced on August 4 and will no longer be usable after that date.

Webflow has a new experience called "Edit Mode." Everyone who had access to the Editor has automatically been given access to Edit Mode — no action is needed on your end.

If you are a client of Emerald's and your website is affected we've sent you an email.

What you can do

01. Get familiar with Edit Mode. Webflow has put together a helpful guide to walk you through the new setup at your own pace. And a great video on how to make edits here.

02. Join Charlee's live walkthrough. We'll be hosting a live walkthrough of the changes on Thursday, July 30 at 2:00 PM ET. You'll get to see Edit Mode in action and ask any questions you might have live.

Feel free to reply to this email or reach out to Webflow support (support.webflow.com) with any questions.
