So fresh. So clean.

We’re feeling GOOD. New. Fresh. Some might even say spiffy!

We've sent 24 monthly Design Dispatches over the last 2 years. They've been a great place to share what we're inspired by, working on and learning.

So what's different? The design (of course!). We're incorporating more color and beautiful typography—all within the limitations of email design (which is totally stuck in the 90s, topic for another day!). We want our emails to better reflect us and be more interesting to read.

In our monthly Design Dispatch we'll be be sharing what's on our minds in design, Webflow world, fun internet links and what team Emerald is "currently about".

---

Keep your eyes peeled for a new email series from Emerald: client spotlights!

Have you ever seen a design studio or freelancer's case study and wondered what the design actually accomplished?

We're challenging ourselves to give more context, sharing the why and results of our projects. We love (and won't stop making) beautiful design, photos and mockups. We also pride ourselves on the research and thought that happens before a pixel of visual design happens.

TL;DR: Client spotlight series hitting your inbox in 2 weeks. Featuring real examples of our strategies, tactical design choices and client outcomes.

Same great design work. More context.

What we’re working on

Pulling a color palette for a mental and physical wellness center based in Southern California. We were inspired by nature—particularly the way light interacts with nature. Dreamy, right?

What can color do?

Create consistency and recognition
Imagine reading a book that jumps from one font to another, from one layout to a completely different one every other chapter. It’d be jarring, right? Well, the same goes for your brand. It’s like knowing exactly who’s behind the book just from looking at the cover, no need to guess.

Evoke a feeling.
When you choose the right colors, you’re helping your audience instantly feel a certain way—whether it’s calm, excited, energized, or sophisticated.

Think of your color palette as your brand's first impression, even before they read a word on your website or see your logo.

Reducing website bandwidth costs

Webflow’s bandwidth limits and overage fees are officially in place. Bandwidth for a website refers to the amount of data that can be transferred between the site and its users over a certain period of time, affecting how quickly pages load and how many people can visit at once.

Bandwidth limits and overage fees can increase charges and impact website budgets. Recently, we helped a client avoid $1,000 in annual bandwidth fees by converting a home page video to a Vimeo embed.

Common bandwidth culprits include:

  • Custom fonts
  • Background/embedded videos
  • Large image assets
  • Unused classes, interactions and styles

We develop all of our client sites with your traffic growth in mind.
